Tourism Federation of Ontario - Industry Formed. Industry Led.
Founded in January, 1996, the Tourism Federation of Ontario is the federally-incorporated not-for-profit “umbrella” organization for the 29 not-for-profit associations serving Ontario’s diverse tourism industry. Membership in the Federation is open to all province-wide not-for-profit organizations with a vested interest in Tourism, plus the regional destination marketing organizations (DMOs). The Federation’s member organizations collectively represent the thousands of businesses and employees that work in tourism in Ontario. The Federation is run entirely on a volunteer basis and, by choice, receives no government funding whatsoever towards its administration. A volunteer Executive Committee is elected each year, and the Chairman is always an industry operator. Since its founding, the Federation has been administered courtesy of the Ontario Accommodation Association.
